Watching you go round

and it plays like a merry go round
and each time that it spins,
I see you laugh and smile
it’s the light in my head
that keeps me up at night
as I go through my day it’s with you
I share that smile
we dance in my dreams,
spinning like that merry go round
you only exist in that world in my head
the scene turns to dust, blown by the wind
I’m getting lost in the light
that escapes our eyes
somewhere between the twilight
of night and day
I keep looking to you,
to see what you’ll say
you just wave goodbye,
as you drift away
and the dream in my head
fades with you as well
I’m left alone
with an empty merry go round
And when the light in my head
refuses to shine
Then I’ll finally rest
’cause I gave you my breath
Then watched you go round
